~Do You Love Me?~

“Do you love me?” I’ll ask my Savior,
When I reach the throne of grace.
I’ll look up into his face,
And ask this question.
“O my Lord, I know it’s true,
But I want to hear it from you.
O Jesus, do you love me?”

“Yes, I love you,” my Lord will answer.
“Do you see that rugged cross?
Now you are no longer lost,
For I have found you.
O my child, you broke my laws,
But I’ve washed away all your flaws.
My dear one, yes, I love you.”

Then I’ll kiss him, and he’ll embrace me,
And forever I’ll rejoice.
I will listen to his voice,
As once did Mary.
Golden treasures I will bring,
And his praises I will sing,
For always, I shall love him.

~God's Riches At Christ's Expense~

My Lord was rich, and I was poor.
He set aside his riches for
A manger bed and swaddling clothes.
Poverty and pain he chose.

Trusting in him, I knelt to pray.
Grace came down in a man that day.
‘Twas God’s riches at Christ’s expense.
Oh, the richness of grace!

My Lord loved earth, the people here.
They came from miles around to hear
The truth and kindness Jesus preached.
To their hearts forgiveness reached.

Trusting in him, I knelt to pray.
Grace came down in a man that day.
‘Twas God’s riches at Christ’s expense.
Oh, the richness of grace!

Now I have found a God to love.
His Spirit fills me like a dove.
For Jesus died and rose again.
He is now my truest friend.

Trusting in him, I knelt to pray.
Grace came down in a man that day.
‘Twas God’s riches at Christ’s expense.
Oh, the richness of grace!

~Our High Priest~

See ahead, a High Priest walking
Over ground we too must tread.
He has met the trials, the heartaches.
"Take this cup from me," He pled.

Jesus, stand before the altar
Where You paid sin's penalty.
We are not alone in suffering,
And You grant us victory!

How unlike us in this instance,
That sin never ruled o'er Him.
Tempted, tried, yet not unfaithful
To His Word was Christ our King.

Jesus, stand before the altar
Where You paid sin's penalty.
We are not alone in suffering,
And You grant us victory!

Victory shall come, 'tis promised,
When the dead shall rise again.
Like the firstborn of creation,
We'll be holy, sinless then.

Though meanwhile we see Him faintly,
Deep within our hearts, His Word
Shall sustain, encourage, strengthen
Our belief, since hope's assured.

Jesus, stand before the altar
Where You paid sin's penalty.
We are not alone in suffering,
And You grant us victory!

~The Sheepfold~

Stumbling, wandering, a lamb cried out,
Where is the path to the fold?
A Man replied, Seek me, little lamb.
I am the Way.

Weak and helpless, the lamb longed for hope.
Who will protect a lame creature?
Trust in me, said the Man.
I am the Shepherd.

Groping in darkness, the lamb reached the fold.
Where could the open gate be?
Believe in me, dear lamb.
I am the Door.

Stooping, He picked up the lamb and smiled.
You’ve finally come to the fold.
Find hope in me, sweet lamb.
I am the Life.

Looking into His face, the lamb asked,
Who are you, Lord?
I love you, my own lamb.
I am the Christ.

~Questioning Why~

It's not up to God to tell us each why -
We may not know why until after we die.
Is it wrong for anyone to use that word why?
When experience makes us to moan, groan, and cry?
No, it couldn't be sinful to question our God,
The One Who made Adam right out of the sod.

Do you recall Job, called "the just," from the Bible?
Let's think about Job now - We must, while we're able.
See, Job had just everything the heart could desire,
But when his wealth vanished, his friends called him "Liar."

Job knew in his heart he was so undeserving
Of cyclones and robbers and sickness unnerving.
Would a true God of love send misfortune unfair?
Job's friends told him no, while he pulled out his hair.

When God finally spoke to Job and his friends,
It was to ask them tough questions and put to an end
All pointing of fingers, saying, "Job, you're to blame!"
Since God created the clouds, He could put Job to shame,

And then bring about justice, restoration, and healing.
With hearts filled with wonder, Job's friends were all kneeling
At the altar God told Job to build for their cleansing . . .
In repentance and faith, they their garments were rending.

You know, Job asked God why . . . . Think about it -
Jesus did too. And the answer is that it was
For me and for you. We find hope. We find life,
Because God forsook Jesus. And engraved with a knife
Stands: "I know that my Redeemer liveth."
So when you question why, think of Job - Think of Jesus.
Oh, won't you accept the free gift that He giveth?

~Help Me Sleep~

I will lay myself in bed,
Draw the pillow to my head,
For I'm in the dwelling place
'Neath my Father's holy face.

Help me sleep, fall asleep.
Lord, shelter me. Protect me.
Help me sleep, fall asleep.
Lord Jesus, keep me safely.

Shepherd, fill my heart with peace.
Make my worries all to cease.
Lead me to the pastures green.
My poor troubled soul redeem!

Help me sleep, fall asleep.
Lord, shelter me. Protect me.
Help me sleep, fall asleep.
Lord Jesus, keep me safely.

~Beautiful Savior~
(To the tune "Beautiful Dreamer")

Beautiful Savior, shine upon me.
Let me truly a blessing through Thee.
Where wilt Thou shine forth eternal Light -
Out of the graveyard while conquering night?
Beautiful Savior, shine upon me,
And let me witness salvation so free!
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart,
Beautiful Savior and King of my Heart.

Beautiful Savior, send blessed rain -
Water of life and elixir for pain.
My thirst is quenched by Thy Spirit's pow'r -
Water eternal, drink hour after hour!
Beautiful Spirit, Water of Life!
List to God's Word, for it cuts like a knife.
Holiest One, our Father's firstborn -
Never to fade in the bright, coming morn.

~Water~

Jesus is here when my mouth is so dry -
When I'm so thirsty, I only can sigh.
He opens the rivers, the pools, and the springs.
Oh, the Lord knows my weariness,
Brings water to the wilderness.
His waters I've tasted -
His praises I sing!

For I know the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ,
That though He was rich,
Yet for my sake, He became poor,
That I through His poverty might be rich.
I'll trust in the Lord forevermore,
And thank Him for my riches and joy!

~Hannah's Song~
(To the tune "Let It Go")

The light shines dim from the candles tonight,
And I feel so depressed.
My rival has all these sons, you see,
And my husband couldn't care less.

Living with her teasing
Makes me boiling mad inside.
I can't give my husband children -
Heaven knows, we tried . . .

Tried to make babies,
But the babies won't come
And now I beg my God above,
Just send me one little boy,
And I will shower him with love!

Let him grow. Let him grow.
Let him grow inside my womb!
Let him grow. Let him grow,
And I'll give him back to You.

Here I kneel. And here I'll pray:
"Give me just one son!
"And I'll give him back to You anyway."

~Whispering Roar~

With miracles so wondrous,
Of fish and bread abundance,
With healing and forgiveness,
Bestowing grace to live this -
This life abiding in Him,
Like branches on a Vine . . .
Can you hear my Savior's power?
It's a whispering roar!

His forthrightness and cunning
Brought crowds of people running.
He came as the Physician
For those who show contrition,
Compelling those who follow
To daily bear a cross . . .
Can you hear my Savior's power?
It's a whispering roar!

Oh ~ Like an ocean in the rain!
Oh ~ You'll never be the same!
Oh ~ It's too hard to explain!
Can you hear my Savior's power?
It's a whispering roar!

With marvelous compassion,
Inciting me to action,
He gives out life unending -
To mission work He's sending . . .
He's sending me to serve Him
By teaching grace and truth.
Can you hear my Savior's power?
It's a whispering roar!
